About the competition

Bus Éireann is asking Transition Year students to get creative on their journey to school.

We are responsible for carrying 116,000 students to school every day on 6,000+ routes nationwide. We are proud to have operated the School Transport Scheme on behalf of the Department of Education for the past 50 years and to play a part in making precious school memories.

At Bus Éireann, making better connections is important to us. We are the leading provider of public transport outside Dublin, and in all our regional cities and towns. In fact, this year we are also celebrating another birthday – 30 years of making connections across the country on our PSO and Expressway services. We have had quite a journey!

School days are known as ‘best days of your life’, these are the days to make memories and life-long connections. And Transition Year is time out; it’s an opportunity for you to get creative and innovative in your approach to learning.

So we are inviting Transition Year students to get creative by making memories of their journey to school.
We are inviting you to document the journey you make to school in the morning, whether you travel on one of our buses, by train, by car, by bicycle or by foot.
